Consumer property law review
Consumer Affairs Victoria is undertaking a review of consumer property laws to improve laws about sale of land, the conduct of real estate agents, conveyancers and owners corporation managers.
Whether you're a home owner, real estate agent, conveyancer or owners corporation manager, Consumer Affairs Victoria invites your input into the review.
As part of this review, three issues papers are being released for public consultation:
Conduct and institutional arrangements for estate agents, conveyancers and owners corporation managers - open for public consultation until 11 March 2016
- Owners corporations (general) – available in February
- Sale of land – available in March
The purpose of these papers is to raise issues for consideration and comment, and draw out evidence and commentary from stakeholders about the nature of the issues and the extent of any problems.
Each issues paper includes a series of questions as a guide to writing your submission. Consumer Affairs Victoria also welcome your suggestions for other issues you believe should be considered in the lead-up to the release of an options paper in mid-2016.
Anyone may make a submission for consideration in response to the issues papers until 11 March 2016.
